“Encounter” is where the four national language regions of Switzerland come together. The element can be positioned in the country´s geographical center, at a place of historical meaning or at an event of national importance.
The project reflects the notion that Switzerland is an exception. This is largely due to its linguistic diversity, and while it may be well-understood, there are relatively few public visual elements in the public spaces which take this into account.
The proposed bridge construction has not just two ends, but four of them. While reduced to its essentials, it also addresses the central visual topics of a bridge: support, rise, carry, move, meet, arrive.
